About your Counsellor

As a Counsellor I have a BA (Hons) Degree in Integrative Counselling and a Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling. I therefore utilise a range of different approaches to therapy including Psychodynamic, Person-centred, (CBT)Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, IMAGO and Solution Focused Therapy. These methods enable me to tailor the counselling to suit each individual client or couple.

As a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) I abide by the association's professional code of Ethics and Standards of Practice, including their complaints procedure.

As a practitioner I am dedicated to continued professional development, so as to offer clients my continued knowledge and enhanced expertise. I therefore, frequently attend additional training courses.
Certificated Courses attended include Couples Counselling, Working with the Individual with the Couple in Mind, (CBT) Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Metalisation Based Therapy, Clinical Assessment, Working with Clients who have suffered Sexual Abuse, Post-Natal Depression, Brief and Solution Focused Therapy, Family Systems Therapy and several more.

Alongside my private practice I offer a counselling service at two other community based venues and I am a Clinical Assessor at Sutton counselling. I have experience working with a wide range of people from all backgrounds. I embrace diversity and inclusivity. I work with couples, individual and young people.

Prior to becoming a Counsellor my career was working with children and families. Within this role I gained an in depth knowledge of family dynamics and the complex relationships that evolve from family life. Additionally many years of working in educational settings with children who had special educational needs and in early years settings highlighted the importance of inclusivity for all.

As a practitioner my areas of speciality are working with relationships, couples, adult-to-young person, family issues, and child related parenting difficulties, along with physical, emotional and sexual abuse. I can offer help and support in these sensitive and often very painful areas.

Personal Approach

As a therapist I have a warm and empathetic approach and I am committed to providing a safe space, where clients feel comfortable and not judged. I believe central to the work is the relationship, I therefore aim to help you feel at ease and accepted, so that difficult issues troubling you can be explored.
