Hello and and thank you for taking the time to browse. My name is Sharon and I work with adults, couples and young people.
We all experience difficult and challenging times in our lives which can weigh us down and we are then unable to find a way forward. It takes courage and honesty to accept you need a guiding hand to help you through this.
Central to my approach is to provide the openness, care and responsiveness of a supportive therapeutic relationship. I work with integrity and compassion to help acknowledge and fully understand, the difficulties of your past. The aim is for you to fulfil your current needs and desires so that you can face the futures with confidence and a sense of security.
I will help you identify the solutions to your problems, but they will be your solutions.
My training and experience have enabled me to work with a diverse group of people with a wide range of psychological and emotional issues. These include such issues as anxiety and depression, complex PTSD and bereavement issues, sexual and emotional abuse including coercive control, various forms of addiction, personality disorders, self-harm and suicidal thoughts. I find that lack of self-esteem can lie at the heart of many problems.
I am a fully qualified and experienced counsellor and psychotherapist, with many years practice with a Mental Health Trust, two Charities and a Children’s and Family Centre. I provide, one-to-one therapy for adults and young people both in long or short term therapy. In couples counselling I work evenhandedly to help you both understand where your difficulties lie, whilst discovering more about yourselves as individuals and in your relationship with each other.
